Announces its Full Programme

Festival dates: Friday 1 – Sunday 3 March 2019

Today, the full programme for the 13th Ennis Book Club Festival was announced. Readers travel from all over the country and further afield to gather at this, the only book club festival in the country. But whether you are a member of a book club or not, all lovers of books are invited to gather in Ennis this March. Over 3 days readers gather to enjoy the festival’s unique mix of readings, discussion, comedy and chat, to immerse themselves in the world of books, meet authors and other book lovers, discuss and debate.

This year’s festival comes with a host of new relationships and ideas, with new events, new venues and of course an amazing range of authors to inspire your reading, along with many free events and an exciting programme for younger readers.

Louise O’Sullivan – ‘What do you write?’

So … What do you write?
If I had a euro for every time I was asked that question I wouldn’t need to play the lotto any more…well, within reason! Let’s just say I get asked that question by pretty much any new person I meet and I get it, if I was meeting someone new for the first time I’d be asking similar questions. Someone who was into sports, what do you play or similarly a musician or an artist but in all honesty I find it one of the most difficult questions to answer. For me it’s like asking what the weather will be like in Ireland at any given time of the year…it changes. So my writing style or genre is like the Irish weather.. unpredictable. Which isn’t always a bad thing.. right?
